End of career, no?

No. What you do then is recruit your illiterate wife (and mother of 9) to become the chief executive of the state for 3 terms till you fight your way out of prison. You contest election from prison, win, and return triumphantly to power. Like James Michael Curley, the Rascal King of Boston. Except better.

Your poor wife, who has been lamenting her position as head of state, returns to her cherished position in private life "at your feet". Presumably, the burdens of managing both family welfare and the family welfare portfolio was too hard for her..

And she has never been heard of since.
